Most of the time the beginning of a new endeavor requires one to develop a new set of skills. This happens when graduating from high school to the University, from the University to a profession and so forth. Many people around the world are moving laterally in the job market right now out of necessity due to the recessionary economy we find ourselves in. There is a choice when it comes to developing new skill sets. One can either learn a little at a time as time goes on, which usually takes a long time, or one can become immersed into a massive learning process upfront, which usually compresses the amount of time it takes to learn new skills.
Well, can you imagine which one I recommend? Massive action is always the preferred method when it comes to getting things done. I suggest that you address learning new skills with excitement, focus and a “must do” attitude. Do not allow anything to get in your way. Imagine it like this. If you were standing on one side of a room and a door was on the adjacent wall. On the other side of the door is another room. That other room contains all of the skill necessary for you to achieve whatever it is that you desire. Would you go up to the door and peek through the keyhole or would you simply open the door and walk in. I hope you would open the door and walk in. Problem is that there are far to many people out there that expect, but fail, to get great results whilst peeking through the keyhole. They simply need to open the door and immerse themselves into a massive skills development program to compress what I call the “TTR” or “Time To Result” for achieving whatever they want to achieve.
On top of this it is important to remember that desire is a good thing but also that desire can delude people into a false sense of future accomplishment. Keep focused on the NOW and remember that the value and the rush is in the process of accomplishment not the desire itself.
To your success,
