I am a hardened serial entrepreneur and believe that people ought to go out and make things happen in their lives without exception. I am also a believer that people can be classified as successful in many different contexts. Do you think that a starving child somewhere in Africa or Bangladesh cares one bit about eating lunch at the Pre Catalan restaurant (one of my favorite restaurants in Paris)? They do not. They care about getting as meal and that is about the extent of it. So, success to them is getting a meal. This means that these people can be successful on a regular basis just as we might consider being able to afford a lunch at the Pre Catalan restaurant a measure of our own success. So, we should reach out to help those people that are simply helpless because of politics, social realities or the greed of a few.
This is a great organization that really does a terrific job of making sure that the contributions that it collects are used effectively. It is out of Singapore which is a place that I love. I have worked and lived in and out of Singapore for years and have a terrific respect for the place, its social structure and for the most part I enjoy the people of the tiny Island Nation State.
